Wiregrass Sketches

This page is dedicated to our family members who are no longer with us.

If You Could See Your Ancestors

If you could see your ancestors,
All standing in a row,
Would you be proud of them,
Or don't you really know?

Some strange discoveries are made
In climbing family trees;
And some of them, you know,
Do not particularly please.

If you could see your ancestors,
All standing in a row,
There might be some of them, perhaps,
You wouldn't care to know.

But there's another question
Which requires a different view ...
If you could "meet" your ancestors,
Would they be proud of you?

We ought to encourage our children to know their relatives.
We need to talk of them, make effort to correspond with them, visit them, join family organizations, etc.
Spencer W. Kimball

I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records,
they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to your families, to your children, your grandchildren, and others, on through the generations.
Each of us is important to those who are near and dear to us and as our posterity read of our life's experiences, they, too, will come to know and love us.
And in that glorious day when our families are together in the eternities, we will already be acquainted.
Spencer W. Kimball

You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love. --Henry Drummondy

When we are grown we'll smile and say, we had no cares in childhood's day - but we'll be wrong, twill not be true. I've this much care. . .I care for you. --Anonymous

If you would be interested in writing a sketch on a family member or if you have sketches on any members of your Wiregrass family that you are willing to share, I'll be happy to add them to the collection, giving you credit.
